Singer /Songwriter/Performer
Mary Protopapa is a singer and songwriter born in the beautiful Greek island of Rhodes on a sunny day in October. Both her parents come from the island of Karpathos. Her father was born in New Jersey, USA and from a young age he discovered music was in his blood. Soon thereafter he formed his own band and stormed the bars and live clubs of New Jersey. Always intrigued by photography he decided to become a photographer returning back to his hometown in Karpathos at the age of 27 where he met Mary’s mother. Also a music lover, her mother, jazz and soul oriented influenced Mary in a great way.
At the early age of 10 Mary attended piano lessons and already discovered her passion in singing. From that point on she participated in numerous singing contests and children’s choirs. At the age of 16 she started singing in local bars in Karpathos along with her good friend and guitarist Elias Othitis. Later on she was accepted with honors by the University of the Aegean however after a while she decided to pursue her dream of becoming a musician.
In 2011 she started an ongoing collaboration with the biggest live venue in Rhodes and world famous "Colorado Club" which dates up until today. Furthermore, she works with many of the biggest hotel resorts on the island. In 2014 she and three acclaimed musicians formed "Knock on Wood", a band with funky/pop influences.
In the summer of 2016 Mary aced her final exams and got her degree in singing with great honors by the Hellenic Conservatory of Rhodes.
As a singer and songwriter, her first recording step was in 2012 with "I'll be your love" a house beat delivered by "Energy Deejays" and lyrics written by her. "Invisible" is her second studio project, a ballad with a more personal feeling.

Απόφοιτη του Ελληνικού Ωδείου παράρτημα Ρόδου του τμήματος μοντέρνου τραγουδιού (2016).
Παρακολούθηση μαθημάτων φωνητικής με τις καθηγήτριες Σοφία Νοητή (Soprano) και Ζωή Κοκκαλά (Soprano).
